Hai Thuong Lan Ong medicinal herb Street is in the middle of district 5. It is named after a great Vietnamese physician in the 18th century. The street is almost completely surrounded by many medicinal herb stores and herbal clinics, where people get the chance to see how traditional Chinese medicine is made and used.. Surprisingly, the smell of herbs widely spread throughout the area making ambience here more interesting.
Since a traditional medicinal herb street was officially opened in District 5, the district has drawn more tourists. In addition, on this street and nearby streets such streets as Tran Hung Dao, Trieu Quang Phuc, Chau Van Liem and Luong Nhu Hoc, visitors can have a look at blocks of houses built by Chinese people a century ago, combining Chinese and French architectural designs.
